What is Open Rate?

Open rate is the percentage of subscribers that have opened your email. Let suppose you send your email via email marketing option of your email marketing provider to say 100 subscribers. If 10 subscribers read your email by opening it at a given point of time, then the open rate at that given point of time is 10%.


Email marketing experts have prescribed different open rates for different products and services in various niches. As a matter of fact each niche can have a different healthy open rate. Not all open rates pertaining to niches are same.


A healthy open rate can boost the confidence of the email marketer by leaps and bounds. The marketer has to be careful enough to send effective emails in order to get good open rates.
